Louisiana unemployment rate falls as more leave labor force
Napa County continues to have the fifth lowest unemployment rate for the state, the EDD said.
Every county in Southwest Florida saw its unemployment rate fall in August over the month – and over the year.
Virginia’s unemployment rate has fallen half a percentage point since August 2014.
The decline in the unemployment rate and the increase in nonfarm payroll jobs both indicate a “pretty healthy expansionary phase” of the Arkansas economy for the past two years, Pakko said. Professional and business sector industries have seen the greatest growth in San Diego over the past year, adding 11,500 jobs.
For children, this rate jumps to 22.7 percent, meaning 1 in 5 in California are poor. At the same time, new claims for Unemployment Insurance were 43,332 in August, compared with 45,435 in July and 47,640 in August of previous year .
Seven categories (construction; trade, transportation and utilities; information; financial activities; educational and health services; leisure and hospitality; and government) added jobs over the month, gaining 56,200 jobs.
The labor force also declined by about 900. Vermont has the third lowest unemployment rate in the country and there are tremendous opportunities in the Vermont economy today for individuals of all backgrounds and skill sets.

The county’s former image as a state-leading troth of unemployment is long gone, with Flagler 20th from the county with the most unemployment (Hendry, at 12.2 percent).
