‘Love’ Mexicans, Trump says, then calls for fencing border
“He’s bad!” Trump said in his speech. “The illegals come in, and the illegals kill their children”. On Friday, Trump met in Los Angeles with Shaw and other family members of victims of crimes perpetrated by undocumented immigrants.
Speaking to a gathering of Libertarians in Las Vegas before headlining an event in Phoenix, Trump continued his blistering criticism of immigration policy. Both were emotionally engaged to end illegal immigration.
Trump improvised throughout his speech but he focused on several themes, including immigration, the economy and his career. News outlets and fact-checkers pointed out that Trump’s assertion – that the undocumented immigrants coming from Mexico are that country’s criminal element – appears to be flat wrong.
Trump frequently criticized the Mexican government, although he insisted he had no conflict with the country or the Mexican people.
The influential South Carolina senator told CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday that if Republicans didn’t repudiate Mr Trump’s views: ‘We will have lost our way.’. “I understand that Mr. Trump is saying what a lot of people here in the United States, I would like to think a majority of the people here in the Unites States, are thinking”.
On taxes, Trump recently said, “Everybody wants to pay as little as possible – including Warren Buffett, by the way, despite what he says”.
“This is absolutely unbelievable”, said Trump.
“Because it proves that they are doing nothing, and he’s accomplishing something by telling the truth… and he’s making a fool out of them by being honest and an honest person is intolerable amongst thieves, “Mason said””.
“We got to take care of everybody”, he said.
“I wonder if the Mexican government sent them over here”, he said. Accused gunman Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez was in the country illegally and previously had been deported.
Trump’s speech in Phoenix, however, was devoid of the most controversial refrains that he has repeated in recent weeks – that Mexican immigrants were drug dealers, killers and rapists – perhaps a sign that calls for moderation from party leaders were taken to heart.
And rank-and-file Republicans, whose immigration worries have been given short shrift by establishment GOP leaders, rewarded him in the polls.
“These are people that shouldn’t be in our country”, Trump said Saturday. “He can say anything”, she said.
Trump was preceded on stage by Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who has a national reputation as an immigration hard-liner and whose department was found by a federal judge to have racially profiled Latinos. “We need someone who can weather the storm”. When asked on whether Trump can win in 2016, Mason replied, “There’s no question about it that not only does he stand a chance”, replied Mason, “but I see it as very strong possibility that he is going to bury all of them, and he is going to come out the big victor”.
“Now they make so much money that that’s peanuts”. Trump and ex- Florida Governor Jeb Bush are virtually tied in the lead for the Republican presidential nomination reported by a Reuters-Ipsos poll released Saturday. If she even wins her own primary, which I don’t know.
Trump addresses supporters during a rally in Phoenix on Saturday.
For the past seven years the party has allowed birthers and race-baiters to sit easily in its ranks taking thinly-disguised racist potshots at America’s first black president.
