LSU RB coach/recruiting coordinator Frank Wilson offered UTSA job
The man behind the man behind some of the best recruiting in college football over the last seven years is leaving LSU.
Bruce Feldman has reported on Twitter that Glenn Spencer, “has emerged as a strong candidate for the UTSA head coaching vacancy”.
ESPN’s Joe Schad confirmed Thursday the deal had been completed.
With National Signing Day just three weeks away, Miles is losing the architect behind so much of LSU’s recent success on the recruiting trail – including the current top-ranked haul that’ll sign National Letters of Intent next month.
Oklahoma State defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer, right, watches his team’s spring practice in Stillwater, Okla., on March 13. At LSU, he was the highest paid position coach making north of $600,000 a year.
If the reports are true, LSU will have a big hole to fill on the coaching staff with the loss of Wilson.
UTSA finished 3-9 during the 2015 season, leading Larry Coker to step down after five years.
Frank Wilson’s first head coaching opportunity has arrived. He applied for the Troy head coaching position last season and was one of the finalists.
