Luke Rockhold v Michael Bisping – Britain’s first UFC champion
Well, probably a few glasses of water and some Advil.
Rockhold will put his title on the line at UFC 199 against Michael Bisping this Saturday night at the Forum in Los Angeles, California. I’m gonna train like a mad man for the next 10 days. I’m gonna have a few drinks. “Those are true colors”. Michael Bisping, the underdog of the fight, defeated Luke Rockhold via knockout in the first round, shocking the MMA world. “The Count” just wouldn’t be “The Count” without a little gloating.
“I shook your hand, and you said “I already shook your hand” and you told me to f**k off”, Bisping yelled.
“I wanted to fight Anderson Silva my entire career”, Bisping said”.
Bisping abruptly knocked down Rockhold midway through the round with a left hand to the jaw of the back-pedalling champion. This main event was originally supposed to be a rematch against Chris Weidman for Rockhold, but after Weidman had to withdraw from the fight with an injury, Bisping agreed to step in and take his place.
“This has been a lifetime’s work”, Bisping said. I’m actually left handed and have more power with my left hand, but I stand orthodox when I fight. Unfortunately, an existing knee injury meant he was unable to take the fight on short notice. “You, being the dick that you are, came up to me and was a bitch about it”.
“Listen, I’ve got to be humble, even though I want to be an a–“, Bisping said. For Cruz, allowing life to go on while he healed was a huge part of getting himself back in the game. “This guy finishes everybody in the first round but check this out”. “I chose you”. So you didn’t choose Jacare. “Buddy, you got knocked the f**k out. Your head was bouncing around like a pinball machine”.
Middleweight championship: Michael Bisping def. Luke Rockhold via knockout (punches) 3:36, R1 to become to the new UFC middleweight champion. “Kind of shook me up”, said Faber (33-99). “So, I felt I was gonna control the fight but he caught me”. “I disagree – I think it’s better than sweet”.
For Rockhold this is another chance to beat Bisping after winning a bout with him in 2014 November (15-2). Rockhold respects what Bisping has done inside the Octagon, but his views of his opponent remain the same.
