Luke Shaw still in tears after leg break
Hector Moreno has apologized to Luke Shaw for the tackle and took to Twitter to wish the Englishman a speedy recovery. The leg break was made even worse by that fact that Shaw, 20, was putting in several stunning displays to start the season with United and England.
“He’s out a long time now, he’s been through an operation and I just hope and I pray for him and his family they are OK right now”.
Shaw tweeted on Tuesday night: “Thank you everyone for your messages, words can’t describe how gutted I am, my road to recovery starts now”.
“You have to build up again a combination with the player in front of him”.
He continued: “They have a very good team”.
Moreno was accompanied on Friday by PSV coach Phillip Cocu at the hospital in Geldorp, where Shaw underwent surgery directly after being admitted.
The Mexican global had impressed under Louis van Gaal before, whilst at AZ Alkmaar, and the then-incoming United boss was linked with his signature.
There was some positive news as van Gaal also confirmed that Wayne Rooney is expected to return to the starting eleven after recovering from a minor knock that’s kept him out of the last two matches against Liverpool and PSV.
Van Gaal declined to speak at length about his relationship with the manager who will be in the home dugout tomorrow. “But he has had training and treatment and I think he can start”. “We can only blame ourselves, I think, because we created so many chances”, he told reporters.
“And when players are travelling that speed, defending like that, injuries are going to happen”.
United will look to progress in the Champions League and win some silverware this season, however they will have to do a lot of that without Shaw who has been a bright spot in the early stages of Manchester United’s season.
Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has declared that Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw will come back from his injury and be a stronger player. A good thing. But he knows it is a long way that he has to go. We will send people to him and when he can come back we have everything prepared.
