Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL sold out in Canada
More than a year after launching its last high-end phones, Microsoft is all set to unveil its latest “flagship”, the Lumia 950 XL in India at a price of “around Rs 50,000” in India on Monday. We definitely didn’t thought that we’d be seeing a Lumia 950 review this fast but it’s true.
Although the Lumia 950 XL has been appearing in countless discounts, its sibling, the Lumia 950, remains available for only $878, which is the same price it’s had for the past couple of weeks. On their website, Microsoft is announcing a variety of discounts for the 2015 holiday season in an attempt to pour new vigor into the Lumia series.
The dock that connects the phone with monitors can be purchased separately here for HK$888. Lack of apps was always a Windows Phone weakness that may have been fixed in this one move.
The Microsoft Store has the Lumia 950 XL listed as “Coming Soon”, according to GSM Arena, and the button to buy it has been replaced with an “Email Me When Available” button.
Perhaps inspired by this, its two latest smartphones come equipped with a modified version of Windows 10.
The exact release date is yet to be confirmed, but look out for it sometime in January on Three and keep your eyes glued to 3G.co.uk for all the latest updates as we get them. However both the network did not mention about the Lumia 950XL.
Available is the Microsoft Lumia 950, which costs $599 and might be a good alternative for those who have not bought or decided yet.
However, given that the display on the phone is covered with a Gorilla Glass 4 layer, let’s hope that it’s not quite as fragile as some of the mid-range phones from the company. It’s slightly thicker than the Lumia 950 XL with at 8.2 millimeters. Inside the relatively petite smartphone lies a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor and 512MB of RAM, as well as 4GB of internal memory.
Both the phones come out into the markets with 3GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. The device has a 3000mAh battery that could be wirelessly charged.
According to Phone Arena, the Lumia 950 can be ordered online.
The screen measures 2.8 inches on the diagonal and the display format is QVGA (320 by 240 pixels). However, diehards would be extremely dejected to know that Lumia 1050 would miss a front camera and this is a kind of bad news for selfie diehards.
The Lumia 550 has lower technical specs, but five-megapixel main camera is packed with features, including LED flash, auto and manual exposure moded, automatic upload to web services, touch focus, and 720p HD video, which can be recorded in the MP4 format.
