Lynx’s Moore is WNBA Player of the Week
Minnesota (11-3) is sitting in first place in the Western Conference. Moore finished the week second among all players in the west by averaging 4.7 assists per game.
She then posted 22 points and 12 rebounds in a 64-57 win over conference rival Connecticut on July 16, and capped her week with 18 points and 14 boards in a 75-73 victory at Phoenix on July 18 that snapped the Mercury’s six-game winning streak. Riquna Williams led Tulsa with 19 points, and Plenette Pierson had 15.
She missed 10 games a year ago because of soreness in her left knee.
Moore averaged 29 points and eight rebounds per game in Lynx victories over Chicago, Connecticut and Tulsa.
Moore made 13 of 21 field goals, including 4-for-6 from 3-point range, to pace the Lynx (12-3). Cappie Pondexter scored 12 points, and Jessica Breland had 10.
Danielle Adams added 10 points for San Antonio (4-11). The highlight came Sunday when Moore had a franchise-record 30 of her 32 points in the second half in a 79-72 victory over the Tulsa Shock.
Meesseman added 13 rebounds and four assists for the Mystics (7-6), and Sanders tied a career high in points and set a career rebound mark with 10 rebounds.
The Sky (9-6) used a six-point spurt early in the third quarter to take a three-point lead. Kelsey Bone led the Sun with 24 points, and Shekinna Stricklen added 19.
