Mack an AP All-Pro at 2 positions; Peterson, Watt unanimous
Khalil Mack has made All-Pro history.
This year, Mack made the All-Pro’s first team at both the defensive end and outside linebacker spots. “I’m a team guy”, said Mack, who had 15.5 sacks (five in one game), behind only Watt (17.5) in the league. That tied Howie Long’s franchise single-game sack record.
NFL.com quoted Mack speaking on his skill-set and All-Pro selection saying, “I do whatever I can to help the team win”.
Making his first public comments on the incident that resulted in Beckham drawing three personal foul penalties and a one-game suspension from the NFL, Mara told ESPN Radio in NY that it is up to the team to provide Beckham with the proper structure and resources to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
Mack’s variety of pass-rush moves, including a vicious bull rush to go with a swim move and a spin, were unstoppable despite Mack being held by an offensive lineman at virtually every opportunity. I can do either. “I think they (voters) saw that”. The others were Houston defensive end J.J.
The 15-1 Panthers led the way with six All-Pro picks, including quarterback Cam Newton, the leading candidate to win MVP when the major individual awards are announced the night before the Super Bowl. Bowman annually earned All-Pro honors from 2011-13 before missing the 2014 season while recovering from knee reconstruction.
“That’s another goal check off my list”, Norman said. Next season the individual and team goals for Mack will be even higher as a run at Defensive Player of the Year as well as the playoffs are within range for the Silver and Black’s defensive star. “All of these other accolades will fall into place”.
