Job seekers should apply at macysJOBS.com or bloomingdalesJOBS.com to explore positions and opportunities for on-site interviews.
Macy’s, which operates the namesake Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s department store chains, had hired 85,000 temporary workers for last year’s holiday shopping season, down from 86,000 in 2014. And for the first time, Macy’s is hosting a “National Hiring Day” in stores on September 30 from 2-8 p.m. “This significant increase in staffing allows us to provide additional service to customers, however they engage with us”.
Macy’s Inc. said it plans to hire seasonal associates for about 83,000 positions.
Seasonal hiring is ramping up in Birmingham and nationwide: Macy’s hopes to hire 83,000 workers nationwide, including for its two locations in Birmingham.
More than 1,000 people will be hired across the country to support the 90th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Santalands and other iconic holiday events.
Most of the positions to be filled are part-time, with the potentlal for flexibility to fit the employee’s availability.
Wherever seasonal associates join the company, all will qualify for a 20 percent merchandise discount on most of their purchases – especially appreciated during the holiday gift-giving time.
