Mad Men’s Rainey Qualley to star in live-action Death Note movie
Starring across from veritable teen magnet Nat Wolff will be Margaret Qualley of The Leftovers.
Death Note unfolds in a major American city, where a student (Wolff) comes across a supernatural notebook that allows him to kill anyone in the world simply by writing their name and picturing their face.
An live-action adaptation of the anime Death Note is on the way and the film has just cast its female lead.
DEATH NOTE will begin shooting this Spring with a script by Jeremy Slater (THE LAZARUS EFFECT).
Japanese actors Tatsuya Fujiwara, Kenichi Matsuyama and Erika Toda greet their fans during a promotion of their new movie ‘ Death Note: The Last Name ‘ on October 28, 2006 in Hong Kong, China. However, a police officer is able to track the student, making things complicated for the young vigilante. The executive producers are Brian Witten and Doug Davison, and the film will be produced by the companies of Roy Lee, Dan Lin, Jason Hoffs and Masi Oka.
Production for the film is set to start in 2016. Prior to director Adam Wingard, “Shane Black (Iron Man 3) and Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting, Milk) were previously linked as directors to the project”.
Can you guess the role of that Margaret Qualley in the live-action film “Death Note?”.
Qualley can still be seen as Jill Garvey on HBO’s “The Leftovers” and also stars opposite Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling in “The Nice Guys”, which bows next summer.
