Madison McLaughlin To Play Artemis In Arrow Season 5

The fifth season is also set to return on Wednesday, October 5 this fall.

According to Variety, where Madison McLaughlin previously appeared in Arrow Season 4 as a troubled teen taking up the Black Canary mantle for revenge against Damien Darhk, Season 5 will reintroduce the character under a different vigilante moniker.

No doubt a few of you are wondering who the hell Artemis is, so here’s your brief primer: Debuting in Infinity Inc.

In the source material, Artemis was the daughter of Golden Age comic book villains Tigress and Sportsmaster and would follow in her parents’ footsteps as a super villain. For Young Justice, Artemis was given a more heroic alter ego as the “niece” and sidekick of Green Arrow after Red Arrow went on to fight crime solo.

Photos via Warner Bros. Oliver and Team Arrow got her to stop hurting people under the name Black Canary, but it looks like she will be getting back into the vigilante game. When we next see her, she’ll be Artemis.
