Madrid star Rodriguez pursued by police
The saga began when Rodriguez, in his top of the line Audi R8, was en route to the club’s training facility on the M-40 highway travelling well over the permitted speed limit.
The chase lasted 3.7 miles (6km) and went on for around 15 minutes, ending only when Rodriguez pulled into Real’s Valdebebas training complex with the police vehicle just behind.
The police officers were later granted access to the training ground, but did not leave with Rodriguez in tow. He happened to race past two police officers on duty which prompted the officials to fall in pursuit with their customary lights and sirens in full flow. He later said he didn’t hear the police over the music playing in his auto.
The officers shouted: ‘Pull over on the right!
