Magnitude 4.0 earthquake shakes San Francisco Bay Area
According to initial reports, the natural disaster measured 4.0 on the Richter Scale.

At least eight aftershocks had been reported, following the original incident, as of 3:20 a.m.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was one mile from Union City, four miles from Newark, and seven miles from Fairview.
The undisturbed quality of our sleep aside, the quake did wake up plenty of people around the Bay Area.
No other reports of damage were received.
Many residents took to Twitter after waking up in the middle of the night.

The Oklahoma Oil and Gas Association released a statement earlier this year that a link may exist between earthquakes and disposal wells, but the industry, researchers and lawmakers “still don’t know enough about how wastewater injection impacts Oklahoma’s underground faults”.

The quake comes about 11 months after a magnitude 6.0 natural disaster struck the region in late August 2014.
