Magnitude 4.7 quake rattles northern Oklahoma, felt in KC
A 4.7-magnitude natural disaster has struck Oklahoma, the US Geological Survey reported, adding that the quake hit at a depth of 6.2 km, just 13 km from the town of Cherokee.
Cherokee is approximately 300 miles southwest of Kansas City.
The temblor, measuring 4.7 of the Richter scale of magnitude, was about 60 miles south of the Kansas State line. around 1:00 a.m. There were no immediate reports of damage.
