Mahindra Mojo launched at a price of Rs 1.58 lakh
IndianAutosBlog has learnt that the Phase II of the Mojo launch will commence only in early 2016, which may include cities like Cochin, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Coimbatore, Ahmedabad, Indore and Chandigarh. The bike will be manufactured at Mahindra’s Pithampur plant in Madhya Pradesh.
MOJO also features Twin Pod Head lamps with LED guide light and LED tail lamps. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a six-speed transmission.
So, after a delay of five years, Mahindra launched the new Mojo in India today. The Mahindra Mojo was first showcased as a concept in 2010, and it has taken its own sweet time in hitting production.
From what we know of the ride of the Mojo by our sister publication Autocar India, the motorcycle has a torquey engine, great tyres and an overall comfortable ride that make it a decent entry level sports tourer.
Available in three colour options of Glacier White, Charcoal Black, and Volcano Red, Mahindra Mojo is powered by a single cylinder 295cc liquid cooled 4 stroke engine. The suspension duties are taken care by gas charged rear offset mono-shox with separator floating piston and inverted front fork with rigid triple clamp mounting.
Mahindra plans to market the Mojo as a touring motorcycle as it has a fuel tank capacity of 21 litres and 173.5mm ground clearance.
Executive Director, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Dr Pawan Goenka said, “MOJO has been developed in-house, with inputs from global partners and is created to be on par with global products in this class. It leverages deep consumer insights to serve many distinct needs of passionate biking enthusiasts”. The 100 pre-books are just a testimony to this fact, he stated. We are overwhelmed with the response so far from both experts and customers. This price tag will last for all bookings made before Diwali 2015, after which the price is said to raise, reports Rushlane.
“We are happy to announce the creation of the Mojo Tribe, a community of Mojo owners which will ride on exhilarating long rides together”, he added.
