Mahindra to sell KUV100 online; Ties-up with E-commerce giant Flipkart
The colour scheme of the Mahindra KUV100’s cabin includes piano black and silver trims on top of the light base colour on dashboard and door panels. The event is expected to begin in the next 5-10 minutes.
The KUV100 looks like a pseudo crossover hatchback.
With features such as sculpture bonnet, wide stance, square wheel arches, wrap-around headlamps with LED daytime running lamps (DRLs), high shoulder line, short overhangs, the KUV100 manages to look like an SUV at least from the front and side profiles.
Mahindra and Mahindra is all set to debut its first passenger auto in India.
The KUV100 is designed on the monocoque chassis similar to the XUV500.
Built at an investment of over INR 1,200 crore, Mahindra KUV100 is being powered by an all new engine family called mFalcon, which has been developed completely in-house. “KUV100 is our first foray into ground up petrol engine and with it we are defining a new SUV sub-segment an targeting a new customer group”.
As far as the engine specifications are concerned, the Mahindra KUV100 compact SUV will be available in two engine options – 1.2-litre mFalcon G80 petrol and 1.2-litre mFalcon D75 diesel.
Both engines are mated to 5 speed manual transmission while an AMT variant will be added on later.
As mentioned above, Mahindra’s new mini SUV will get both petrol and diesel engine options. While the top-end K8 variant will get dual airbags as standard feature, it will be optional for other variants.
KUV100 – where KUV stands for Kool Utility Vehicle (KUV) and 100 signifies the series and the vehicle’s position – is now below the Mahindra TUV300 and XUV500. The petrol variant of KUV100 has been priced at Rs 4.42 lakh while the diesel variant will come at Rs 5.22 lakh. However, it is likely to compete with the B-segment hatches, majorly with Hyundai Grand i10, Maruti Suzuki Swift and Ford Figo.
