Maicon: A draw against Bologna is not a bad result for Roma
Rudi Garcia claimed Roma’s 2-2 draw in Bologna was “a parody of football” and stormed off during an interview.
The Brazilian global then discussed his former teammate Mattia Destro, who got Bologna’s equaliser on Saturday, after joining them from the Italian capital in the summer.
“We tried to play our game and a point in the end is not so bad”.
Moroccan-born full-back Adam Masina gave the Rossoblu the lead before second-half penalties from Bosnian duo Miralem Pjanic and on-loan forward Edin Dzeko put the visitors in front. “Don’t ask me questions related to football, we can’t talk about it tonight”.
Roma made the short trip north only one point off leaders Fiorentina and second-placed Inter Milan and looking to maintain their title push three days before meeting Barcelona in a crucial Champions League fixture.
“It was possible to stop the game and the referee shouldn’t have gone ahead with it. It wasn’t football, it was water polo with feet”.
But disaster struck for Roma when right-back Vasilis Torosidis, a late replacement for Maicon, completely misjudged his challenge on Emanuele Giaccherini inside the area.
Bologna move up to 15th place on 13 points.
