Maine woman attacked with knife inside supermarket dies
Saco police say a 59-year-old mother of five has died after a knife attack inside Shaw’s Supermarket Wednesday afternoon.
Police say MacCalister, also of Saco, was arrested in the store and later charged with murder.
Police say she attacked Boudreau with a knife near the ice cream freezers inside the market just before 3 p.m.
Two EMTs were in the store at the time and rushed to tent to Boudreau, but she passed away later after being rushed to Southern Maine Medical Center. She was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
Store employees and other shoppers were able to subdue MacCalister inside the store until police arrived, authorities said.
Police said there is no indication the women knew each other and they are still working on a motive.
“We have crime scene inside the store right now and it is roped off. State police have been notified”.
“The medical examiner is planning an autopsy at some point tomorrow, I believe”, Lt. Brian McDonough with the Maine State Police said.
McCausland says MacCalister is expected in court Thursday or Friday.
