Make Your Own STRANGER THINGS Title Screens
Both volumes of the Stranger Things soundtrack will be available through Lakeshore Records 19 August, digitally at first with a physical release to follow in September.
If you’ve seen the Duffer Brother’s incredible horror/SciFi homage to everything 1980s, Stranger Things (you better! did you read the warning!), you probably love the 80s-inspired eight episodes we’ve been given so far.
“The meticulously made music references synth lynchpins such as John Carpenter and Tangerine Dream, and has received so much acclaim it is being released over two LPs”, read the festival’s announcement. It was created by Imaginary Forces, whose work you’ve seen in the title sequences of Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire, Jessica Jones, and others. It’s the week’s lucky pick in the YouTube Tuesday lotto. They are told not to go looking for their missing friend, and then we get the Always Sunny spoof episode title: The Gang Goes Investigating.
The popularity of “Stranger Things” is taking the world by storm and, amazingly, “Stranger Things” Season 2 is already widely talked about even if the first season has just crossed the finish line with flying colors.
Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour and Finn Wolfhard. The band was initially approached by the filmmakers when they requested use of one of their songs for the show’s pitch to Netflix; it fit the mood so well that Dixon and Stein were asked to compose the show’s entire score.
“Stranger Things” was undoubtedly the runaway hit of the summer as the Netflix original series was paid homage to ’80s classic movies such as “The Goonies”, “E.T.” and “IT”.
