The 20-year-old took to Twitter to discuss the case of Steven Avery, who is accused of murdering photographer Teresa Halbach in 2005. During Netflix’s TCA winter tour panel this weekend, the streaming service’s Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos was asked if the show could be renewed for Season 2.
Moira Demos and Laura Ricciardi do not consider their hit Netflix docuseries “Making a Murderer” an example of “advocacy journalism”, nor do they feel obligated to justify why evidence that unearthed since the documentary aired was left out. “But we’ve not returned to Wisconsin in the past four weeks”.
‘I can’t say why Jodi Stachowski is saying what she is in the media today, ‘ said Demos, ‘What I can say is when we filmed with her nine years ago, this is what she was saying to us.
“You don’t want to muddy up a perfectly good conspiracy movie with what actually happened and certainly not provide the audience with the evidence the jury considered to reject that claim”, he told Fox 11 News.
Sandaros also said that Demos and Ricciardi have been bombarded with so much press that they haven’t had much time to continue compiling footage for a follow-up season.
Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos sought to deflect discussion on the question of Avery’s guilt or innocence at a news conference on Sunday and instead pointed to questions raised about the criminal justice system in their film. Harassers have repeatedly called and emailed the department to tell them they are corrupt and to “rot in hell”, Hermann said.
“We did not intend to have an impact on that particular case”, Ricciardi told Noah. They’re looking at other stories as well.

The two directors also remained adamant that they did not deliberately leave out biographical details from Avery’s life in order to characterize him in a certain way.
