‘Making a Murderer’ overwhelms county clerk with records requests

Two years later, Avery was arrested in connection to the murder of 25-year-old photographer Teresa Halbach.

Many people have started petitions online are asking for Avery be released, but also some who have made death threats against those connected to the investigation, like Ken Kratz.
Walker said he does not issue pardons because he does not believe as a governor he should undermine the judicial process. The Netflix series launched the public’s reexamination of the case and sparked speculation about whether Avery and Dassey are innocent of the crime.
