Malayalam actor Kalpana passes away in Hyderabad
Noted Malayalam film actress Kalpana Ranjani, known as Kalpana, died in Hyderabad on Monday (January 25) morning, according to information reaching here. Film personalities who rushed to the hospital were told by the doctors that she had died after suffering a heart attack.
She is survied by her actor-sister Urvashi.
She had made her debut in the film industry as a child artiste in 1983. She is believed to have suffered a cardiac arrest, Malayalam director Sibi Malayil said.
Kalpana has done a variety of roles in Tamil starting from K.Bhagyaraj’s hit move in the 1980s Chinna Veedu. The 50-year-old was found unconscious in a hotel in Hyderabad city, where she was filming for an upcoming bilingual movie. She has acted in hundreds of Malayalam films since then. She also dubbed for the film “Vaigai Express” last week.
