Malaysia Airlines strikes compensation deal over MH17
The Boeing B777 aircraft, which was traveling from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur and carrying 298 passengers, including crew, was shot down over eastern Ukraine on July 17, 2014.
The Russian government has challenged the findings, with the makers of Buk missile systems, Almaz-Antey, saying that experiments proved that one of its missiles could not have been launched from areas under pro-Russia separatist control.
Family members of seven of the passengers who were on board the ill-fated Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 on Friday filed a suit against the airline in Malaysia, citing negligence and breach of contract.
“Some of the relatives of people who were killed phoned us and asked us to find things that were valuable for them, for example, the toys that belonged to children aboard”, village council head Natalia Voloshina.

Liow said: “As we mark the second year anniversary of the MH17 tragedy, our thoughts and prayers are with the next-of-kin of the victims”.
Outside, there were 298 sunflowers for the victims – a reminder of the Ukrainian sunflower field where the bodies were scattered. Global cooperation must be strengthened in order to improve security standards in civil aviation. “Terrorism is inadmissible in any form and perpetrators of this tragedy must be punished”, Ukraine’s Pressident said. Our own assessment has not changed – the missile was sacked from territory controlled by Russian-backed separatist forces in eastern Ukraine. Russian Federation has denied its troops were operating in Ukraine at the time.
