Man accused in Mukilteo killings due in court Monday
They were all 19 and recent graduates of Kamiak High School in Mukilteo, a waterfront city of 21,000 people.
Ivanov is now being held on suspicion of two counts of first-degree murder, one count of aggravated first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder.
The Seattle Times reported that Ivanov will be in the Snohomish County Jail on Saturday on murder-investigation charges.
The friend said that Ivanov purchased an AR-15 rifle last week and texted him a photo of the weapon.
One person remains in hospital in serious condition following the shooting. On Monday, University of Washington Bothell students and staff held a memorial for Bui, a student there. Recently returned from a monthlong trip to Europe, Bui was remembered as a “bright light” who was considering a career in medicine.
Sultan Akbar, 18, had classes with Ivanov and the victims.
According to the detective’s written statement, Ivanov showed up to the house in the 10000 block of Chennault Beach in Mukilteo around 10 p.m., Friday, parked across the street, and watched. “The Allen that I knew was not anymore, that was definitely not Allen that I was talking to”.
Seattle defense attorneys Tim Leary and Zach Wagnild were retained by Ivanov’s parents, but neither is qualified by the state Supreme Court to try a death-penalty case.
When Alexis tried to escape through the garage with a young man who lived at the house, Gemmer said the shooter began shooting at the man from the roof.
A 19-year-old man suspected of fatally shooting three people at a party in a Seattle suburb over the weekend is expected in court Monday afternoon.
“We didn’t think gun control was that important until now”, the friend said in tears. He was meant to start a fire arms safety course early this month, reports the Seattle Times. “Ivanov stated that everything that went on tonight was about a girl”, police wrote in the affidavit of probable cause. They say he was upset that his ex-girlfriend, Anna Bui, appeared to be moving on with her life after their recent breakup.
Ivanov became angry when he heard from peers that Bui was seeing other guys, the narrative states. But police allege he was able to purchase an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle a week before the attack in suburban Mukilteo.
According to the affidavit, Ivanov viewed the semi-automatic rifle “as a symbol of power”. He brought the weapon along in his auto to a party on Friday night, where he hoped to reunite with his ex-girlfriend.
Three people were shot and killed during a Mukilteo party, leaving a Snohomish County neighborhood in shock on Saturday.
“He thought things were going well”, Detective Ernst wrote.
Around midnight, he allegedly returned to the party and opened fire.
After that, he explained to police, it was “too late to turn back” and his adrenaline kicked in.
Ivanov then reportedly entered the house and found Bui, shooting her twice.
Next, he shot a male he spotted running towards the house. Finally, he headed upstairs to a balcony an fired at two more men in the driveway. Authorities arrested Ivanov about 90 minutes later on Interstate 5 near Chehalis.
Court documents also show that prior to the shooting, Ivanov texted someone in Tennessee “regarding committing a mass shooting”.
