Man arrested for jumping over White House fence
He was caught about 20 meters from the fence line and arrested around 2:45 p.m.
The man was possibly holding some sort of sign or folder and was dressed in white trousers, reports Fox News. Once he cleared the barricade he laid down in the grass, according to a Fox News producer.
Uniformed officers from the U.S. Secret Service quickly apprehended the man on the North Lawn.
Security is especially important because the president and his family are actually at the White House today for Thanksgiving.
A woman who was outside the White House on Thursday said she witnessed the incident.
Omar J. Gonzalez, an Iraq army veteran with a knife in his trousers, scaled the fence from the Pennsylvania Avenue side of the White House and made it inside.
Earlier this week, Secret Service placed the White House on temporary lockdown after a woman tossed an apple core over the fence along the South Lawn.
