Man changes name to Darth Vader
In an impressive show of fandom, 43-year-old former Marine Eric Welch legally changed his name last year and became Darth Vader.
Michigan HC Jim Harbaugh indicated that his major complaint with the new Star Wars movie was its lack of villain Darth Vader. “I don’t want to give anything away”.
It doesn’t sound like it. The man formerly known as Eric Welch, who is from a place called Canandaigua, says he chose the name because the “Star Wars” character has an aura of leadership and toughness.
Vader is waiting on a bone marrow transplant and has a GoFundMe page set up. He’s aiming to surpass 50 and expects to hit that milestone next summer, his fifth year completing the Tough Mudder races.
“I was impressed, this was a good stories, but Darth Vader, not quite the same”, Harbaugh said. Some 500 congregants wielding light sabres and Darth Vader masks packed into Berlin’s Zion Church for a special Sunday service with the film’s theme song played on the church’s organ echoing around the rafters to the delight of all those in attendance. Obi-Wan Kenobi Briggs in North Carolina, Darth Mykolaiovych Vader in Ukraine, Julius Andreas Gimli Arn MacGyver Chewbacka Highlander Elessar-Jankov in Norway, and Han Solo, Yoda Reeves, and Laura Matthews Skywalker in England probably have the same issue. Harbaugh will be looking to pull a few dark Sith mind tricks of his own against Florida in the Citrus Bowl on January 1.
The two vicars, who are still in training, hit upon the idea while talking about the Star Wars films during a vehicle journey.
Plus, I’m sure he gets weird looks every-time he’s carded.
