Ontario Provincial Police officers are stressing the importance of removing snow and ice from your vehicle before heading out on area roadways.
It looks like an SUV in the photo, but it is hard to be sure because of the sheer amount of snow blanketing the vehicle’s windshield and hood.
A photo the Ontario Provincial Police released on their Twitter account shows the passenger vehicle covered in a foot of snow, with just one-third of the windshield cleared to allow the driver to see out of it.
Most of us would agree it’s also a necessary step before driving anywhere.
Police tweeted the 80-year-old driver was issued a $77 ticket – $110 in Canadian money – for driving with an obstructed view.
An 80-year-old motorist has been fined after being found at the wheel of a auto resembling a moving snowdrift. He was caught driving a auto encased in snow, except for a small section on the driver’s side window. “I can understand his excuse was he was too old, too weak to brush off the snow”, police spokesman James Stanley told the Associated Press.
Police say the driver was pulled over in Huron County and charged.
