Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini “undermined” by Pep Guardiola talk – Danny Mills
Andre Gomes has been touted as Pep Guardiola’s first signing should he take over as Coach of Premier League side Manchester City.
The Ivory Coast worldwide had scored three times in the four games since Sergio Aguero injured his heel against Southampton in late November.
“I’m disappointed that I didn’t start”, Bony told reporters. “I’ll be in next season to coach the great FC Bayern”. The team are not playing at a certain level and it doesn’t seem to get better for the Dutch manager as the team are already out of the UEFA Champions League and are in danger of missing out on the top four this season.
Emenalo became a prominent name in Mourinho’s departure after he featured in a video interview on the club’s official TV channel to explain the decision to sack the Portuguese manager, despite Chelsea winning the Premier League title in April this year, citing a “palpable discord between players and manager”.
Pellegrini said: “You have to play so many games (to play) that it is impossible to think just two teams can be involved in the title”.
“I’m very happy with the character and personality of the team because we never give up”.
He [Aguero] is coming back from injury. He hasn’t played for a few weeks. My feeling is that I will say this to the manager today. I will continue to work hard and think about the next game, prepare very well then it will depend on the coach who he is going to put in’. Reflecting on the same, Pellegrini believes that the 44-year-old Spaniard would probably join City as he also wanted to work in Premier League. We just didn’t play well.
Meanwhile, striker Wilfried Bony has revealed his frustration at being overlooked by Pellegrini for Monday’s 2-1 defeat at Arsenal. We had more possession, more shots and more attempts but we didn’t win the game.
Moments later a simple ball into Mesut Ozil allowed him to play in Walcott, who carried the ball back out of the penalty area before arching a superb finish past the despairing dive of his England team-mate Joe Hart. I think we will find our way in the next game so we just have to think about that. I know we must improve because we are conceding too many goals but we are still in all the competitions and we will see what will happen in the second half of the season.
Toure added: “In the end we were a little bit unlucky, we had a couple of chances”. We won the FA Cup in the last two seasons and you need character to win the FA Cup.
