Man City’s Kompany ruled out until last part of season
Vincent maybe not so soon, but for the last part of the season, he could be fit.
Asked if he could provide an update on Kompany’s situation, he said: “Not in this moment”. Every team is finding tough encounters on the road and I think you can lose at any moment when you least expect it.
Kompany’s importance to City is borne out starkly by statistics.
The Blues have conceded only one goal in the eight league games that Kompany has started this season, compared to 20 in the 12 he has not.
Manchester City playmaker David Silva has urged his side to find the “balance” required to cope without captain Vincent Kompany.
“Vinny is a key player for us and our captain”. Mangala will return soon.
Bony’s place is also under pressure from young striker Kelechi Iheanacho, who Pellegrini said has a bright future ahead of him.
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has hinted that the Citizens will not be looking to sign another striker in the ongoing transfer window.
He said: “Kelechi has been involved [with the first team] from the first game of this season”.
But Pellegrini said: ‘I don’t think he will be ready before a month.
“That way, we don’t let anything affect our thinking and purely focus on our own performance. So it’s important first to reduce the points that we are behind them and after that try to continue in all the competitions and try to be a solid and consistent team”.
Kompany has missed large portions of the current campaign due to various injuries and unsurprisingly, the City backline has looked very shaky in the absence of their star defender.
Manuel Pellegrin and Arsene Wenger.
Wednesday marks the second of three meetings with the Toffees but Pellegrini believes that the games are not related to one another. Those two games are more linked than the other games against Everton. Those five players are injured and not fit.
“Everton has a style of play, they’re an attacking team under Roberto”.
Martinez rotated his squad for their 2-0 FA Cup win over League two side Dagenham and Redbridg, e but is expected to have top scorer Romelu Lukaku, who headed the late victor against City in the League Cup clash, back on Wednesday.
City hoped their captain would be back at the end of this month but Pellegrini now admits he might not return until end of the season.
