Man City sign Colombia striker Moreno
After completing his move to Manchester City, teenage forward Marlos Moreno spoke of his excitement at linking up with Pep Guardiola.
The 19-year-old will move to the Premier League following a breakthrough spell with Colombian outfit and boyhood club Atletico Nacional, whose academy he joined in 2010.
We’ll be honest, we don’t know an very bad lot about young Marlos, but we can tell you that he’s done enough to warrant one of those YouTube best bit videos – complete with annoying dance music. It will be nice to experience being part of such a big club. “I want to make the most of it”, he told the official website.
Moreno has signed a five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City has signed another young South American forward, bringing in Colombia worldwide Marlos Moreno on a five-year deal.
The versatile forward has since received seven caps for La Tricolor and played a part in the Colombia team that finished third at the Copa America Centenario this summer.
Meanwhile, City Director of Football Txiki Begiristain believes that he will be a great prospect ahead of the future of the club.
Moreno started both legs of Atletico Nacional’s victory over Independiente del Valle in the Copa Libertadores final last month, ensuring he leaves his first professional club on a high.
“He makes and scores goals and is an intelligent footballer”.
Despite being just 19-years-old, Moreno has already earned seven senior global caps for his country Columbia, whilst also having scored for Los Cafeteros against Costa Rica in the recent Copa America.
While Moreno will be looking to become a fan favourite at City, the teenager ranks Manchester United great Cristiano Ronaldo among his football idols, alongside Barcelona star Andres Iniesta.
