Man dead after highway crash west of Calgary
Traffic has been closed in both directions on Highway 22 from the Trans-Canada Highway to Springbank Road while police investigate.
One man, who was in an eastbound tractor-trailer, died as a result of the collision.
The incident is still under investigation.
The BC Coroner’s Service and the RCMP ICARS Traffic Analyst from Golden Detachment are both en route to examine the scene.
DriveBC is reporting compact snow, with slippery conditions and limited visibility on the area’s highways.
Four people were transported to hospital with unknown injuries. His name has not been released.
The crash happened just north of Buckley Bay at around 1 p.m. Monday, shutting down northbound lanes of Highway 19 for several hours.
There is no detour available at this time.
Emergency crews are at the scene of a serious crash that has killed one person west of Calgary.
DriveBC estimates the highway will reopen today at noon.
