Man doubles down on winning lottery ticket – and collects another $10m
Rodney Meadows was out running errands when he made a decision to pick up some $30 California Lottery 30th anniversary scratchers tickets.
“First off, I could not believe it”, Meadows said told KCRA, a local NBC affiliate.
Meadows told KCRA that he typically buys around four to five lottery tickets per week, and it just so happened that luck struck him twice this time around.
Most of us would count ourselves lucky to scoop $1,000 (£650) on a scratchcard but Rodney Meadows didn’t stop there.
A California man was in such disbelief over his winning $10 million ticket he had store workers check it multiple times.
California man wins $10 million on lottery ticket, minutes after cashing in a $1,000 ticket he’d just purchased.
Last year’s $1.5 million dollar victor from another location down the road also stopped in to buy tickets and offered the new victor his two cents. “I play every day, every day”, said Joseph Trancoso, a friend. “You can only spend so much money, you can only live in one house and you can only drive one auto, but I’m going to live and drive like I want to”, said Elfred Mitzenheimer, a Powerball victor.
Meadows has not yet decided what he will be doing with his winnings.
He won $1,000 on the first ticket.
The Fast Mart will receive a bonus of $50,000 for selling the lucky ticket.
