Man found dead, another wounded in foot after shots fired in Minneapolis
Minneapolis police say two people who lived in the home were dead when they arrived, the victims of gunshots. An ambulance took the hurt man to North Memorial Medical Center.
The incident occurred in a house on the 2200 block of 10th Ave.
Preliminary indications are that the deceased victim was the intended target, and no descriptions of a suspect have been released at this stage. S around 5:12 p.m., Minneapolis Police Department spokesperson John Elder said.
Police are also saying that two people were found unharmed in the residence and both have been taken into custody, one is a suspect and one is in protection.
City police have been dealing with a rash of shootings recently.
Two people died in a domestic shooting in a south Minneapolis home on Friday evening, police said.
There has been an uptick in violent crime in 2015 across Hennepin County.
The police commander for the neighborhood plans to add more patrol officers as investigators probe the double homicide, Elder said in a statement on the MPD website.
