Man found dead at Scottish music festival
An investigation has been launched into the death of a man at the T in the Park music festival.
According to the Daily Record, investigators this afternoon confirmed they were looking into what was described as a “medical incident”.
Police said the 36-year-old was discovered among tents this afternoon at the T in the Park festival at Strathallan Castle in Perthshire.
“The death is now being treated as unexplained. Next of kin have been notified”.
Officers appealed for anyone with information that could assist the inquiry to come forward urgently.
There were concerns over traffic arrangements for the event and the potential for anti-social behaviour.
Superintendent Colin Brown: “The majority of fans have behaved well and have enjoyed themselves”. Unfortunately they ignored our advice.
Organisers DF Concerts struck a deal to shift the 2015 festival following health and safety concerns about an underground oil pipeline at nearby Balado, where it had been held for 18 years.
Police Scotland also reported that 28 arrests have been made during the event so far, on a par with last year’s figures, while a total of 476 people have been seen by the hospital tent – fewer than at this time than last year.
“If you are driving tonight or tomorrow, our advice is not to drink at all and to make sure you are well rested before setting off on your journey home”.
Event manager Colin Rodger said: “Our goal is always for T in the Park fans to have a fantastic time, from start to finish, and we’re really disappointed that this wasn’t the case for some people last night”.
‘We’re doing everything possible to help emergency services with their enquiries.’.
