Authorities have arrested a man after there was an exchange of gunfire and a shots fired call at a church in a western NC county, WSPA-TV reports.
What officers were involved and how many are also questions there are no answers to right now. It reopened at 9:30 p.m.
The pastor of the church tells FOX Carolina that the suspected shooter was not a church member.
“Usually we have a lady who cleans the church on Wednesdays but the electricity was out so she wasn’t there”, Carlisle said.
There was no one inside the church at the time shots were fired.
“He was shooting at police and they had to shoot at him”, Carlisle said.

Maple Grove typically has 50-60 worshipers on Sunday mornings.
Since it was an active crime scene, there was not a typical Wednesday night service at Maple Grove Baptist Church.
