Man ignites gas station trying to kill a spider with a lighter

A driver in the USA has apologised after he caused a large blaze by using his lighter while filling up at a petrol station.

A Michigan man set his auto and a gas pump on fire on Tuesday while trying to kill a spider while pumping gas. The man, meanwhile, grabbed a fire extinguisher and doused the flames. He didn’t have anything on him.

The only damage was to the gas pump, which was destroyed.

The man responded by rushing to get a fire extinguisher, while a level-headed employee hit the automatic stop button and called the local fire brigade.

The CCTV footage of the incident has since been posted online and gone viral.

The motorist can be heard on the video asking: “Is that a spider in there?”

Adams said this serves as a reminder about being careful around gas pumps.

A spider is not seen. Quite obviously, the entire gas pump promptly caught fire.

He apologized saying he’s deathly afraid of spiders.

“He was sorry,” Adams added.

The man somehow avoided serious injury after attacking the bug as he filled up his vehicle with petrol.

There is no limit to just how stupid some people can be when faced with what they feel is a dire decision.
