Man killed by escort was possibly a serial killer
The suspect, Neal Falls, 45, was killed on July 18 in Charleston, West Virginia, when he threatened the prostitute’s life with a 9mm pistol. Falls placed his handgun down during the struggle, said the woman, who grabbed for it and fired one shot, killing him.
Cops discovered a terrifying arsenal inside Falls’ auto – a machete, axes, knives, a shovel, a sledgehammer, bleach, plastic trash luggage and 4 units of handcuffs.
So far, no history of major crimes in Falls’ record has surfaced. Fortunately, authorities have confirmed all of them are alive.
“It’s likely that Mr. Falls is a serial killer”, said Steve Cooper, Charleston Police Department Chief of Detectives.
Heather had a separated shoulder, broken vertebrae, strangulation marks around her throat and other injuries, Cooper said.
Cooper had said earlier that police are also investigating whether 45-year-old Neal Falls has links to several unsolved murders in Las Vegas.
As a result of the recent findings, the FBI is looking into Falls’ past for any clues as to whether or not he may have harmed other women.
Charleston police and Nevada authorities have been in communication.
Authorities said Falls, of Springfield, Oregon, rented a room in Henderson, Nevada, from 2000 until 2008. Three of their bodies were found dismembered by the side of a road. WAVE 3 has contacted Louisville Metro Police to find out what type of interaction, if any, they had with Falls. She was the subject of massive search, and her family from central New York helped comb the desert area where her rental vehicle was last seen a few 30 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip. Her legs were found in Springfield, Illinois, three weeks later. The case appeared on an episode of “America’s Most Wanted”.
With just 120 miles separating Charleston, West Virginia and Chillicothe, Ohio, officials had considered a possible connection between Falls and six women who have gone missing or have turned up dead in a little more than a year.
CNN spoke to a woman in Eugene, Oregon, who said she is Falls’ sister. “It’s a mystery how he had traveled across the country to us right now”.
