Man Proposes To Girlfriend As Michael Myers

” Apparently romance isn’t dead, as evidenced by 30-year old Alec Wells, who proposed to his girlfriend Katherine Canipe as Michael Myers, the famed killer of Halloween fame”.

Wells and Canipe, both 30, are horror film fanatics.

The video starts off chillingly, with music and footage from the original movie starring Jamie Lee Curtis.

Dressed in Myers’ signature coveralls and featureless latex mask – but minus the gleaming kitchen knife, for obvious reasons – Wells patiently stalked and surprised his girlfriend, Katherine Canipe, by materializing from behind a hedge.

The whole thing worked out, and as the video shows, it definitely gave Canipe a scare. What she finds around the corner, however, is nothing short of marital bliss.

In case the ruse seems creepy, rather than romantic, it actually has meaning for the couple.

“She hosts a podcast about horror movies called Boys and Ghouls and John Carpenter’s Halloween is her favorite movie of all time”, Wells told The Daily Mail. And as a thank-you to her new fiancé, she let him choose the theme of their engagement photos.

As you can see below, he went with another classic film – and Back to the Future was probably easier to share with the grandparents.

And in addition to having one of the coolest proposals, they also took an amazingly geeky engagement photo taken by L.A. photographer Ricky Middlesworth that pays tribute to a favorite film of Wells’: Back to the Future.
