Man Returns $1300 to Domino’s, Gets Free Pizza for a Year
Along with pizza, the delivery chain accidentally threw in $1,300 cash back.
Mike Vegas had the pie delivered Friday and only ate one slice before taking off for work.
Vegas’ phone has been ringing non-stop since then. Turns out, the delivery driver had mistakenly given him a wings box with $1,300 in cash hidden in it – put there for safekeeping before the driver made his final stop of the night.
Vegas is up for the task, though he says “I’m going to have to start working out more, obviously”. “I was at work so I wasn’t answering”, he said.
Vegas says he thought about what to do and took to Facebook to ask friends.
When he got home around 5am, Vegas wanted to have some hot wings but was instead surprised by stacks of cold, hard cash when he pulled the box of chicken from the fridge and opened it up. When the pizza arrived, Vegas snuck a piece out and got into the shower. “I knew what had happened”, he said.
“I wrote a Facebook post and there’s a long list of people arguing, ‘You should keep it!”
It’s one of those moments where you wonder, what you would do?
Domino’s rewarded Vegas’ decision with free pizza for a year.
Finally at 5:35 p.m., the big update: “Conclusion – driver is safe and keeps his job, money is back at Dominoes, I was offered free pizza for a year”.
Vegas accepted the offer… and he kept the wings.
