Man Sentenced To Prison In Wife’s Death; Kids Still Missing
– The man who accepted a plea deal for murdering his wife will serve 45-80 years in prison. His stepdaughter, Kaylah Hunter, was 6 years old, while the couple’s son, Kristian Justice, was 8 months old.
In court, Justice sat as if he couldn’t care less about his former mother-in-law, Travae Fox, shedding tears just feet behind him as she spoke about the woman he killed, the missing children, and her heartache.
Both children were alive at the time, said Jones, who has pleaded guilty to being an accessory after the fact to a felony for his role.
Family members left the courtroom without comment on the sentence afterward.
Alicia Fox’s body was found in June 2014.
Friend Timothy Jones testified against Justice in May, saying the husband admitted to the crime.
“He said they were arguing, he blacked out (and) when he came to, he was shooting”, Jones testified.
Assistant Wayne County Prosecutor Trisha Gerard vowed to “continue to seek justice” for Fox’s family. He initially had been charged with first-degree murder.
He was facing trial on first-degree murder charges.
