Man United reportedly close to agreeing a deal for Chelsea target Barcelona’s
Pedro has been repeatedly linked with a move to Manchester United and Chelsea in recent weeks as the clubs consider triggering his £22m release clause, and Busquets admits that it is understandable why his fellow Spaniard is considered leaving.
The Red Devils will need to pay up to £22 million for his services if a transfer is agreed for a player who has won everything he can at the Camp Nou.
“According to those close to Pedro, talks with the English club are so advanced that the deal could even be announced this week, while the player is away with his current team on the American tour”, Hernandez revealed.
Barca’s star-studded forward line featuring Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez has meant Pedro’s first team chances have been limited in the last year, with the new contract he signed last month appearing to pave the way for his exit rather than secure his future.
Paris St Germain are said to be closing in signing Di Maria one summer after they failed due to Financial Fair Play restrictions and if that’s the case, Van Gaal may simply be replacing the Argentinian winger with Pedro in his squad.
“I have spoken with Pedro”.
“He wants to play but there is a lot of competition. It was a private conversation”, Busquets said.
“I think that as a team-mate and friend, I would like him to stay for a long time, but I understand that he has doubts. Finally, it will be his decision, but I hope he stays”.
