Man United transfer wait was annoying: Pogba
Paul Pogba said “the time is right to go back to Old Trafford” after completing his world-record £89m transfer to Manchester United, BBC reported.
Pogba, who left United in 2012 to join Juventus after growing frustrated with his lack of opportunities under Sir Alex Ferguson, was later confirmed as a United player in the small hours of Tuesday morning.
France worldwide Paul Pogba is now a Manchester United player after a frantic 24 hours at Old Trafford.
“I didn’t finish what I started here so I think I came here to finish it”.
The France mid fielder, whose strength and range of passing should allow United to play a more expansive game than the limited style adopted by Dutchman Van Gaal, has been a hot property all summer with Real Madrid also hovering.
Third and most importantly, and because I have watched the above just so many times now, and I have ruled that this is the coolest thing that has ever happened.
The club has seen how interest spikes on social media when new players arrive and the numbers generated by Pogba’s signing will be digested and ultimately used to draw in potential new sponsors, who will see how their brands can piggy-back on United’s global pull. I just can not get over it at all.
“My apologies for not responding before, by law I could not talk”, said Pogba on his Instagram account. It’s just a great feeling.
He feels it was his “destiny” to return and that he is not focusing on the fact he is the world’s most expensive footballer.
“Our fundamental market is 75% done”, he said last weekend, “and when we sign one midfield player that crucial work will be done”.
But without the fitness base provided by a full pre-season, a more realistic target for his first game is the game against Southampton at Old Trafford on August 19. The eyes of the world will be watching their every move this season and a successful season in European tournaments is exactly what the Premier League needs if they want to continue to sign world class players.
Those are the two big things you need to be a success at United. “I just came back to Carrington [United’s training ground]”.
“He is going to be a top player for years to come and he will make a big difference to United’s title chances”.
