Man Utd fans left because of traffic: Van Gaal
“What do I do now?”
“Paul Scholes has been outspoken about his old side and I can’t disagree”, he wrote in his column in The Sun.
“You want that?” asked Van Gaal to a room full of nodding heads.
“There are also matches where I’m very bored or angry because we are not disorganizing our opponent’s defense, but that is football”.
“You never know the reason”.
Louis van Gaal’s side have scored just seven goals in their last 10 games at Old Trafford and have scored just two first-half goals at home all season.
United ended an eight-match winless run by defeating Swansea nine days ago and then followed that victory up with a narrow success in the FA Cup against third tier Sheffield United.
“I can understand that, because it was an effect that we were not shooting too much and not able to shoot at goal too much”, Van Gaal sympathised.
“They have been ironic [against Sheffield United] but that’s an expression of the fans and that’s good”.
However, United will be without midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, who was injured on Saturday and would have been taken off, had Van Gaal not already used all of his substitutes.
“I think the manager is happy with my progress and when I train I try to improve day by day”. “It is part of the job”.
Unless it was the traffic of the ball being passed sideways all the time we’re doubtful that was the reason. “Ok, I see their game against Arsenal and they played very well”. “It was a shame we didn’t see it out and get a replay at Bramall Lane, but we have to move on and think about Tuesday’s game at Wigan”.
Van Gaal and his team found themselves in a storm of critcism, with the likes of Paul Scholes going insane about their “boring” style of play.
“We have ups and downs, but now we’ve won twice in a row and maybe it’ll give us a boost”.
“Do you know that”, he snapped at reporters.
United are getting a bit of a pasting in the press and on social media at present, with the Red Devils’ uninspiring football the target of much criticism from pundits and glee from rival supporters.
“A lot of managers are (yelling from the sidelines) but I doubt if they have real influence”.
