Man who sent selfie to replace mugshot is arrested
The Ohio fugitive who disliked the mugshot police were using of him so much that he sent them a selfie has been arrested.
Pugh had been wanted in OH for failure to appear at a scheduled December 28 court hearing in Lima in connection with a drunk-driving charge.
Donald A “Chip” Pugh, a 45-year-old OH resident and person of interest to the Lima Police Department, found a mugshot of him that he considered unflattering – bloodshot eyes, forced smile and all – in circulation.
“Here is a better photo of me, that one is bad, ‘ messaged Pugh, along side the pic which shows him posing in his aviator shades inside a flashy auto”.
Police added the new photo to its Facebook post.
Pugh has not exactly been quiet since the replacement mugshot went viral and made news around the country and world.
Extremely concerned with his public image, Chip also did an interview with the local radio station 104.9 The Eagle. I knew I was walking out in a couple minutes…Let me tell you what happened. They were like, ‘Why are you smiling?’ I’m like, ‘Cause I’m gonna walk out of jail in a minute. “When I turn myself in, I’m only doing three days”. “I got a dangum DUI. I’m defying all law and hey, I couldn’t help but run with it. I did it for my idiot friends”.
Like a lot of police departments are doing these days, the police department of Lima, Ohio (population: 38,000, give or take) keeps citizens informed of its goings-on with a Facebook page.
Federal immigration raids have wrenched open new divides between President Barack Obama and his Democratic allies, including the woman who hopes to replace him, Hillary Clinton. Pictured below: The Century Branch Library shortly after Pugh’s arrest Tuesday morning.
