He was taken into custody after being reported to staff at the park as a suspicious subject with a firearm around 9 p.m., Anaheim Police Department Lt. Eric Trapp said.
44, was charged July 13 with being a felon carrying a loaded firearm in public, possession of a firearm by a felon, and possession of ammunition by a prohibited person.
“The “See something, say something” campaign worked”, Trapp said.
Shortly after his arrest, Agoncillo posted $20,000 bail and was released from jail.
Disney security noticed a “bulge” on the man’s chest and alerted authorities, police said. Disneyland referred inquiries to police.
While police are not yet aware of Agoncillo’s motive, there are reports that he may have told detectives that he was seeing ghosts, and that he’d heard voices, telling him to shoot people. “Obviously there are … certain things … we can’t reveal because there is a criminal prosecution that’s underway”.
Agoncillo was also on probation for a similar incident of carrying a firearm in in San Mateo County, according to KTLA.
A 44-year-old San Francisco man is facing charges, after he was arrested on suspicion of possessing a loaded weapon outside the gates of Disneyland, Anaheim police said.
Agoncillo went back north to his home, where he was arrested a short time later in South San Francisco, Trapp said.
He is due in court for arraignment on August 27.
