Man with sword goes into Apple store

A man was restrained by police after brandishing a sword at the Apple Store on Fifth Avenue today.

Pictures surfaced on social media showing the man pinned face down at the store, surrounded by police. He was taken into custody by two NY Police Department officers.

Breaking news, Guy with a samurai sword started attacking people with the sword and tried to kill himself at the Apple Store, Fifth Avenue on 11/20/2015 3:45pm EST.

Police say that the man entered the store and was yelling and menacing with the sword.

In one video, uploaded to Banjo, the man appears to drop the sword, only to pick it back up and keep swinging.

The samurai sword swinging man was taken to Bellevue Hospital Center, a psychiatric hospital and the oldest public hospital in the United States, for evaluation. It’s still unclear at this time what the man’s motives were or if he meant any harm to himself or other shoppers.

The incident was captured on store surveillance video.
