Manchester City manager Pellegrini believes Leicester have title credentials
Manchester City, now in a tie with Tottenham for third on the table will need to prove they can win games on the road.
Manchester City star Raheem Sterling has claimed that he and his teammates lacked “cutting edge” in tonight’s stalemate against Leicester City. Also on the schedule, Leeds United plays Derby County in the Championship.
Nicolas Otamendi and Man City could not find a way to beat Leicester on Tuesday.
Manchester City did manage to win both games against Leicester City last season but they have not won three in a row against the Foxes since the early 60’s. It seemed reasonable for the lead to vanish in a tough December stretch that included successive matches against Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool and Man City, but even a draw will ensure Leicester City at least a share of the lead as the calendar turns. Manchester City had no issues with Sunderland, winning 4-1 at home.
“I think we did more than Leicester to win the game”, Pellegrini said. Leicester has so far been the most consistent team in the league so City will have to come up with a very special performance to knock them off their perch.

“In the end, I think Liverpool deserved to win”, Ranieri told the club’s official website. “It is in our mind, we have to recover”, he said.

Ranieri’s men have conceded 25 goals, while Man City boast the joint-best Premier League attack, scoring 37. “We are in good condition and in a good position with 38 points”.
Manchester City do still have concern about Sergio Aguero’s injury as he was named to the bench against Sunderland but was not brought on. Kompany is now unlikely to play on Tuesday at the start of a run of fixtures that will see City play four successive away games in 12 days.
Danny Drinkwater resumed training with the team on Sunday after a hamstring injury and could feature for the Foxes after missing their last two games but Jeff Schlupp (hamstring) remains out.
