Manchester City Star Backs New Manchester United Signing To Shine
As per reports, Eliaquim Mangala has warned Manchester United newest signing Anthony Martial that he will have to fight hard to justify his £36m price tag in his first season with the Premier League giants.
Mangala himself knows how a bit transfer fee can transform perceptions, having never quite managed to establish himself since leaving FC Porto for £32 million in 2014 [BBC Sport].
“I still think I’m good enough to be a starter [for City]”.
They have a 100% record and are perched at the summit of the league, with Mangala and teammate Vincent Kompany receiving praise for their exploits thus far.
United could end up paying as much as £58m for Martial if he reaches the targets set for him, which are believed to include winning the Ballon d’Or.
“Martial will be looked at differently, because Manchester United bought him so expensively”, the stopper began, as reported by Le 10 Sport. “United paid a lot of money for him”.
“He must concentrate on his football, everything else is a part of the world of football“.
He continued: “Let’s see how he and people around him, like the club or his family, deals with it, that’s important”.
However, the Frenchman has been impressive in his side’s fine start to the Premier League season and he is confident of maintaining his form after being put under pressure by the arrival of Nicolas Otamendi.
“Currently we can see some big amount within the transfer market. I hope he will be well received”.
