Manchester City top transfer target drops biggest hint
Following a spree which saw Manchester City splash the cash to secure the services of Raheem Sterling, Fabian Delph and Patrick Roberts in quick succession, it was widely believed that the Premier League giants would move on to secure the services of Kevin De Bruyne.
But De Bruyne has risked infuriating his management by refusing to commit to Wolfsburg.
Instead of ruling out a move, the Belgium worldwide has increased speculation about his future.
De Bruyne joined Wolfsburg last January for around £18m having made just six starts in England but was voted as the player of the season in the Bundesliga after helping his side finish as runners up behind Bayern.
However, following an awards ceremony on Thursday, where De Bruyne was named Germany’s Footballer of the Year, De Bruyne dropped a strong hint that he may not be donning the Wolfsburg jersey this coming season.
“If in the end it happens, you won’t be able to say that I lied”.
‘Still, we would deal with an offer out of respect for the player.
“I’m not the type to say that I’m staying and then to leave two weeks later”, added the 33-times capped Bruyne, who is under contract until 2019. “Of course I hope that we develop internationally so that elsewhere there are not many better opportunities for a player to improve”. Atletico are due to reward Godin’s loyalty by extending the 29-year-old’s contract, which now runs until 2018, and by offering him a wage hike. But I also know that a lot of reports about me in the media.
