Manchester United DO want Cristiano Ronaldo back from Real Madrid confirms
Madrid want to recoup some cash on the man who has smashed the Bernabeu goals record in his six-and-a-half years at the club and Ronaldo is open to offers as his relationship with coach Rafa Benitez becomes more strained.
It comes after Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes said it would be “impossible” for the 30-year-old to leave Madrid. Ronaldo will be hoping to be amongst the goals this weekend as Real Madrid host Barcelona in El Clasico.
Ronaldo still has three years to run on his contract, and the player himself has hinted he will see that out before exploring the possibility of a move to the United States. In Spain, he has won one league title as well as the 2014 Champions League.
Former Manchester United striker Bebe has raised some eyebrows after suggesting his game has similarities with that of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo has struggled to match his own high standards this season under manager Rafael Benitez, scoring eight goals from 12 La Liga appearances.
In order of preference, who should United’s No. 1 target be: Ronaldo, Gareth Bale or Neymar? United are wealthy enough, but would they want this?
Scott Patterson: If the opportunity was there for United to sign Ronaldo, I think they would be mad to pass it up.
“The thing with Manchester United is Sir Alex Ferguson”.
Real Madrid have a awful manager and a worse set of fans.
The January arrival of the vastly experienced Robben at Old Trafford would give them a huge boost in their pursuit of the Premier League title, not least because he has played in the English top flight with Chelsea.
“When I was talking with him he said “but you know the way I love Manchester United”.
“You can’t have one guy out on the wing, and say, “Do what you like”. But at the end of the season, Van Gaal cut his losses. It was an inexplicable appointment at Real Madrid.
“As I understand it, Ronaldo was irked by that from the beginning”.
“Martial and [Michael] Carrick came back from the worldwide break with injuries, Rooney was ill and we had already injuries – [Antonio] Valencia has been operated on and has a long time away and [Luke] Shaw you know”.
